Being a British citizen doesn’t mean you have to lose your own identity. There will, however, be things about life in the UK that you should know about before you become a citizen. That’s why the Life in the UK Test has been introduced. Studying for and taking the test will give you the practical knowledge you need to live in this country and to take part in society.
If your English skills are at or above Entry Level 3 you must take and pass the Life in the UK Test to demonstrate your knowledge of life in the UK. We can prepare you for this test. The subjects we teach you will come from the latest edition of the Life in the UK test book “A Journey to Citizenship”. The course is suitable for those who want to take their Life in the UK Test, particularly those who can not do our ESOL Citizenship course because their language is above Entry 3 Level or those with Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas.
The test contains 24 questions on life in the United Kingdom and will last for 45 minutes. It’s based on chapters 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the handbook ‘Life in the United Kingdom: A Journey to Citizenship’, which you can buy from most large book stores. We will cover Chapters 2-6 to prepare you for the exam. The class will include group discussions and practice on computers. Timings and days are flexible.
Don’t worry if you don’t pass the test the first time that you try it; you can try again when you feel ready. There’s no limit to the number of times you can take the test, and if you do not pass with flying colours then we will give you the course fees back.
Requirements: You need to have the “A Journey To Citizenship” book and be able to read and understand English at a reasonable level.
