Training Assessment and Quality Assurance TAQA.

New qualification replaces old assessor qualification D31, D32, A1 and A2. It also replaces all Internal verification qualification V1 and V2.

New structure is much better, it is rational. Now all Assessors qualifications are at level 3 and all Internal verification (new name Internal Quality Assurer IQA) at level 4.

New level 3 assessor qualifications.

There are 4 new assessors courses, see our handout. Please select which is most appropriate for your role. Three qualifications are AWARD, these are small qualification, as these less than 13 credits points. These credits are now called RQF- regulated qualification framework. These are regulated by OFQUAL.

Level 3 Assessors award in understanding principle and practice (AAUPP) 2 Day course can be delivered part-time, Full time = 2 full days, Part-time = 6 lessons 3 hours each. Fee for this is £250 inclusive minimum age of 19 years. Not formal qualification required, should have good understanding of the English language and ICT. No observations required, knowledge based only.

Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits) (AACW) .
Medium size qualification, designed for those assessing apprenticeship or anyone else in the vocational setting, brick laying, carpentry, hair dressing, painting and decorating etc. Very much practical persons. 3 day course or part-time 12 lessons of 3 hours. There needs to be 4 practical observations which can be carried out at NTC or own work place (4 observations of 2 candidates). We run these courses every months on demand or you can do flexi learning. Minimum requirement is the same as above.

Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (9 credits)

Award in Assessing Vocational Related Achievement (AAVRA) (9 Credits)
This course is suitable for those who asses knowledge or skill in a vocationally related subject using the following method of assessment in a simulated environment eg skill test, oral and writer questions, assignment, project, case studies (RPL). Example: Marking exam papers, student work, Apprenticeship. Minimum requirement is the same as above. Fee is £550 all inclusive

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (15 credits) (CAVA).

This is the best qualification to have, because it allow you to assess learners work in any situation.

We run all of the above courses on demand. Unit 1,3 and 3 can be completed in 6/8 weeks part time. Fee for this is £750 inclusive, (4 practical observations (2 Learners + Assignments) 4 day course or part-time fifteen 3 hour lessons. We run this course once per month on demand or flexi system.

Please note time is approximate because it is dependent upon timely coordination of the observations undertaken at NTC or your work setting.

Assessors are highly in demand and can earn up to £21.000 – £41,000 per anum. There are many vacancy’s, All those who complete the assessors with NTC find work and are happy in there role. NTC strongly recommend Assessors course and Teacher training course (AET) for a secure and bright future.
